The Abbey is set is beautiful grounds to sit or walk in and there are river walks nearby.
During these days, the resident community hold silent meditation practice for half an hour, three times a day, which you are very welcome to attend. Three meals a day will be provided: you may eat with the other retreatants and residents or retire to your private room. The rest of each day will be largely yours, although we do ask that you assist with a few of the daily requirements of living and working in community such as helping to do the washing up after meals...nothing too strenuous or time-consuming and all part of living at the Abbey on retreat! And if you want to include some gentle gardening or other activity as part of your retreat time we can arrange that too.
Retreats run from lunchtime Tuesday to lunchtime Thurssday. You are welcome to arrive any time from 10 am on the Tuesday morning. We hold silence in the house on the Wednesday from the midday meditation until after the evening meditation. Lunch is therefore silent that day.
The Meditation Room is open all day for quiet reflection.
For retreatants earning less than £12,000 pa the cost is £93.00
For retreatants earnings between £12,000 and £20,000 the cost is £123.50
