Nathan Williamson has recently recorded these works for his ‘Great American Sonatas’ CD released on SOMM and receiving 5 stars from Peter Dickinson in Musical Opinion – ‘an exceptional CD announcing a remarkable young British pianist… a landmark in recordings of American piano music’ – 4 stars from Geoff Brown in BBC Music Magazine – ‘He’s at his most memorable of all in the quiet reminiscences textured into The Celestial Railroad… Maybe there will be a volume two..?’ Also 4 stars from Fiona Maddocks in The Observer – and Jed Distler reviews in the Gramophone: ‘A release of distinction’.
Attendance is by donation on the night; we suggest £15 for a concert of this quality but all are welcome and all proceeds support the work of the Abbey Sutton Courtenay. 8-25 years old attend free.
